Current commissions are for an original watercolor piece on a 5 in. x 5 in. square piece of watercolor. I use Paul Rubens Watercolor, Canson 140 lb watercolor paper, Uniball Signo white gel pen, and Sakura Microns.

I'm new to commissions so I will only accept requests that I believe I can do a good job on to avoid disappointment. I'm most comfortable with cats, aquatic animals (otters, seals, whales, fish, crabs, etc.), birds, rodents, and most dogs.

It generally takes me up to two weeks from start to finish for a piece.

Upon completion, I will mail your piece sandwiched between two cardboard pieces in a bubble mailer unless otherwise noted. Shipping is usually around $4.
Pricing
Pricing does not including shipping. Commissions are for a 5x5 watercolor piece and has a starting price of $30. The starting price includes one animal with a wreath and some embellishments. Examples below:
*Wreaths are optional, other design choices are available so long as a detailed description is provided. (i.e. centered animal with scattered floral embellishments). Wreaths are simply the default design choice as you'll know what to expect and they look nice.

Multiple animals are an extra $3 each. (baby versions will be an extra $2 each) Keep in mind that the piece will still be 5x5, so each additional animal will be smaller in scale compared to if there were just one.

Background colors in the wreath are an extra $3.

Animals with a scene as opposed to just sitting (such as with a tree, or with a toy) will have an additional $3-$8 depending on how complex the scene will be.
Examples of pieces with the add-ons and their prices:

The two kitties with the galaxy theme would be $36.
($30 base + $3 background + $3 additional animal) -
The fox with the bunny and two little foxes would be $39.
($30 base + $3 background + $6 additional baby animals) -
The narwhals would be $36.
($30 base + $3 background + $3 additional animal) -
The penguins would be $39
($30 base + $3 background + $3 additional animal + $3 scene)
Payment & Process
Payment will be through PayPal (USD)
**If you need the commission piece done by a certain date, please let me know ahead of time. The earlier I am aware of it, the more I have time to prepare

After receiving your request and confirmation of a timeline, I will provide you with the price quote, payment information, and a rough draft of the composition. I require a 50% deposit upfront after I provide the rough draft.

I will then draft a sketch and send an image of it to you for approval and possible changes.

If there are bigger changes after the sketch (such as additional animals or backgrounds), I will notify you of possible additional charges before proceeding with the changes; if you accept and still want those changes, I will continue working and request that you send 50% of the changes' fees.

I will not be able to make any more changes once the sketch is approved and there'll be no refunds past this point.

After the sketch approval, I will start transferring it over to the watercolor paper and begin painting. I will provide updates and progress photos as I go along.

When the piece is complete, I will send you a final photo of the completed piece and request the remaining 50% and $4 for shipping. Upon receipt of the total payment, I will send it to you by USPS.
To summarize, there are two to three total payments:

One upfront deposit at 50% of the total after discussion & rough draft.

Another payment depending on if there are possible changes after the sketch; no refunds past this point.

The last 50% of the total on the final photo proof + $4 shipping.

Please be as specific as possible. Would you like a symmetrical wreath? Or a more natural free looking wreath? Feel free to send me photos of my own work for reference. How many animals and what kind are they? If you have no preference, we can discuss together, but please let me know that as well.

If you're requesting a commission for pets, please include reference photos by email in your request.

Please send where you'd like the item to be mailed to my email.

As the illustrator and creator, I'll be allowed to post your commission on social media, or publish it. However, if your commission is a surprise, please let me know to wait on publishing or posting it.

Please do not infringe on common copyright rules and please do not use the commission to produce your own items to sell, enter competitions, and/or post as your own art. You can share as much as you'd like, put it wherever you like, but please don't monetize it.
